What the vendor receives
After you send a questionnaire, the email experience depends on whether the vendor has claimed their Scorecard and whether the recipient already has a SecurityScorecard account:

Claimed scorecard and no account
The vendor's administrator receives a guest access request that allows the recipient to view and complete only the questionnaire.

Claimed scorecard and existing account
The recipient will receive an email with a direct link to complete the questionnaire.

Unclaimed scorecard
The recipient receives an email prompting them to create a free SecurityScorecard account and complete the questionnaire.
Send a questionnaire link
- Go to Communication > Questionnaires and select Send New Questionnaire.
- Select a questionnaire template. You can choose a standard industry questionnaire template provided by SecurityScorecard or a custom questionnaire created by your organization. You can search or filter to find the correct template.
- Specify who should receive the questionnaire. You can send it to individual email addresses or an organization's domain. If you are sending to a domain, any user with an email address that includes the selected domain can access the questionnaire.
To send to multiple recipients at once, upload a CSV containing one email address per line. - (Optional) Set the due date and choose whether SecurityScorecard should send a reminder.

If you want to resend the questionnaire on a schedule, select Schedule recurring and choose a cycle.
Note: If you select a send date after the current date, or if you make the questionnaire recurring, SecurityScorecard emails the questionnaire directly to the vendor. If you select the current date and do not make the questionnaire recurring, SecurityScorecard generates a link that you send to the vendor from your own email address.
- (Optional) Add access for specific users before sending.
- (Optional) Add an internal comment for your reference. Internal comments are visible to the sender and members of their organization. The limit for internal comments is 500 characters.
- (Optional) To include a personal message, turn on Send email and enter your message.
- (Optional) Turn on Smart Answer AI so that the vendor can use it to complete the questionnaire. Learn more about this feature here.
- Send the questionnaire. After you send it, you can copy the link to the questionnaire.
Track the status of the questionnaires you sent
Select Outgoing in the left-side navigation to view and track the questionnaires you sent. Here you can see who it was sent to, its current status, percent completed, and any internal comments left.
You can also search questionnaires with similar comments or keywords, such as the company or template name.
