History Tab Score Change does not match "Overall score impact" reported under Issue Types

Question

Why is there a discrepancy between what you see through the History Tab when looking at finding(s) under New Events, Resolved Events, Other/Platform events:

When you actually open the Issue Type page and review the "Overall score impact". Why does one place says it will affect the score by +/- x points vs the other showing a different Score Impact.

Answer

The History Tab shows events based on "Findings" that have Appeared/Resolved/Decayed. There can be multiple findings under a single Issue type but not all of them could have Appeared/Resolved/Decayed at once.

The Issue Type can contain more findings than what is shown as an event under History Tab. So the "Overall score impact" is the score decrease for all findings that are currently present under that Specific Issue Type.

In the screenshots shown above:

The 2 findings under Issue Type "SSL/TLS Service Supports Weak Protocol" had decayed (among others Appeared/Resolved/Decayed) ---> 0.2 Points Gain

All findings under the Issue Type "SSL/TLS Service Supports Weak Protocol" are still Open ---> 1.3 Points Loss
