I am trying to add a Scorecard to a Portfolio but it is not working, it says "You added 0 new vendors". What is the reason?
Answer
In order to generate a scorecard, the domain (example.com) must have a DNS entry. If the domain does not resolve, the scorecard cannot be generated.
Note: If example.com does not resolve but www.example.com does, the behaviour does not change.
Steps to Reproduce
1) When searching for the Scorecard, an option to generate a Scorecard for the domain will be shown:
2) After clicking on the "Generate Scorecard" button, an option to "Add Company" to one of the Portfolios will be provided:
3) Try adding it to the Portfolio by selecting the Portfolio and clicking on "Add":
4) A brief pop-up on the top right of the Platform screen will be shown saying "You added 0 new vendors.":
While not being explicit for the cause, this message indicates that the Scorecard for the said domain cannot be generated because the Domain does not have an A Record present on the DNS Records. This can be confirmed by visiting the domain on the Web Browser. The following message would be displayed if this is the case:
