Problem
Depending on the Network Configurations set by an organization's IT, there can sometimes be issues accessing the SecurityScorecard Platform. As an example after logging into the platform, or going to a different portion of the platform, the below generic error message can get generated:
How to tell if it is an issue with the SecurityScorecard Platform or a blockage from the IT side?
One way to figure this out would be to open SecurityScorecard Platform using a device that is not managed by IT on a Network that is not managed by IT. As an example a personal phone that is connected to the internet using a Data Plan. If the issue does not occur, then this would indicate that the issue is indeed caused by a network policy set by your oganization.
Another way to test if there is any issues is by using the following URL (substituting example.com with your own Scorecard domain) after you have logged into the Platform: https://platform-api.securityscorecard.io/companies/example.com?show_has_logged_in=true
The normal expected output should look something like below, a json formatted response. Anything else would be indicative of restriction caused by a network policy set by your oganization.
What steps can IT take to ensure that the SecurityScorecard Platform works as intended?
Check with your IT team to confirm that the following URLs are not in the blocklist. It would also be a good idea to add these to the explicit whitelist:
platform-api.securityscorecard.io/*
ui-metadata.securityscorecard.io/*
platform.securityscorecard.io/*
atlas.securityscorecard.io/*
*.securityscorecard.com/*
*.securityscorecard.io/*
*.algolia.net
What if none of the above URLs are blocked and the issue is with Platform?
If this is the case then please submit a Support Ticket and one of our agents can help escalate the issue to our Engineers.
