Every company in your account has a monitoring status of either Partial or Full. Partial monitoring gives you basic vendor risk tracking without using a slot. Full monitoring includes everything in Partial and adds deeper risk intelligence, compliance mapping, and executive reporting. This article explains what each level includes, how they compare, and where the monitoring status appears in the platform.
Partial monitoring
Partial monitoring provides foundational visibility to support third-party risk management (TPRM). It doesn't use a slot, so you can keep vendors in your inventory and track their basic risk posture without using your slot allocation.
Note: Partial monitoring availability depends on your plan. Contact your CSM to enable it.
With partial monitoring, you can:
- Identify vendors with breaches in the last 30 days.
- View a vendor's overall grade, score, and 30-day trend.
- See the date of the last accepted (assessed) questionnaire.
- Add vendor metadata, such as business impact and contract dates.
- Manage your vendors in one central place.
- Receive basic alerts for score changes and new breaches.
Partial rules support only the "New breach reported," "Overall grade drops below," and "Overall score drops below" triggers. The only available action is alerting a teammate.
Partial monitoring includes these tools:
- TPRM Dashboard (All Companies view)
- Vendor Details
- Contact Manager
- Requests Log
- Basic rules and questionnaire
Full monitoring
Full monitoring adds deeper insights and threat detection to all partial monitoring features. A fully monitored company is in a portfolio and consumes one slot per scorecard.
In addition to everything in partial monitoring, full monitoring provides:
- Visibility into score factors, digital footprint, issues, incidents, and 12-month history.
- Findings mapped to compliance frameworks, such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
- Hierarchy view and Evidence Locker.
- Custom alerts for vulnerabilities, ransomware, and other threats.
- CISO and board-ready reporting.
- Portfolio membership and the Products Used tab in the vendor details. These are not available for partial vendors.
Full monitoring also includes these tools:
- Portfolios
- Action Plans
- Reporting Center
- Full rules
Full monitoring also supports the following add-ons: Full Questionnaire with Signal Integration, Automatic Vendor Detection, and Supply Chain Risk Intelligence.

Find the monitoring status in the platform
The Partial and Full options in rules and the monitoring status filter are available only if your account has the All Companies watch list feature enabled.
Check the All Companies list
On the All Companies page (Companies > All Companies), the Monitoring status column shows a Full (blue) or Partial (gray) label for each company. To narrow the list, filter by monitoring status from the filters panel.
Scope a rule by monitoring level
When you create a rule with an Event trigger, go to Select Scorecards and choose All Full Monitoring Scorecards or All Partial Monitoring Scorecards. The rule then applies to only that monitoring level.
How to change a company's monitored status
If you add a company without selecting a portfolio, it is added as partially monitored, and its monitored status will be visible under the Monitoring status column.
To move a scorecard from fully monitored to partially monitored, remove it from all portfolios, including private portfolios. You may need to work with your SecurityScorecard Administrator to remove the scorecard from all portfolios.
