The Microsoft Teams app is available with a paid SecurityScorecard plan. See our plans page for more information about levels of features and access.
Integrate the Microsoft Teams app from the Marketplace to ensure your team is immediately notified of critical scorecard changes. This integration routes scorecard events directly to a designated Teams channel, with each message including key event details and a direct link to the relevant information in SecurityScorecard.
Prerequisites
To integrate with Microsoft Teams, you will need:
- A paid SecurityScorecard account (required for access to our integrations).
- A Microsoft Teams account with permissions to add webhooks to a channel.
Install the app in SecurityScorecard
To integrate Microsoft Teams with SecurityScorecard:
- Go to Automation > Integrations.
- In the Marketplace, search for Microsoft Teams and select Install.
Generate an incoming webhook in Microsoft Teams
A webhook is a unique URL that acts as a destination for SecurityScorecard to send alert notifications to your selected Microsoft Teams channel. For more details on creating a webhook in Microsoft Teams, see this article.
Note: You only need to create this webhook once. You can use the same URL for multiple notification rules in SecurityScorecard.
-
In your Microsoft Teams workspace, go to the Teams tab and select the channel where you want the notification cards to appear.
- If you don't see a team, you need to join one.
- If you don't see a channel, you need to join one within a team.
- In that channel, select the More options (...) next to the channel and select Workflows.
- In the search bar, enter “webhook” to filter and find the workflow template you want to use.
- Select Post to a channel when a webhook request is received.
- Select Next and complete the process.
- Copy the URL and store it in a secure location. You will need it for the next step.
Create the notification rule
The last step is to set up a rule so that you can receive notifications in Microsoft Teams whenever an event occurs.
- In SecurityScorecard, go to Automations > Integrations , select the Microsoft Teams app, and go to the Rules & Actions tab.
- Create your own custom rule or choose a predefined rule provided by SecurityScorecard.
- Enter a descriptive name for the rule.
- Select who can view or edit the rule.
- Determine if the rule is triggered by either an Event or a Time Schedule.
- Select a scorecard or portfolio that the rule applies to.
- Under Action, select Microsoft Teams.
- Paste the webhook URL that you copied in the previous section in the provided field.
- Select Update to save the rule.
Your Microsoft Teams channel will now receive notifications with actionable details whenever the rule is triggered.
