Role-based access control allows administrators to grant platform permissions based on a user's responsibilities. Instead of giving every user the same access, you can assign roles that define what actions they can perform and which areas of the platform they can access.
This approach makes it easier to expand platform usage across your organization while maintaining appropriate controls. For example, administrators can invite legal, compliance, or operational teams to collaborate in the platform without granting them full administrative privileges.
By assigning the right role to each user, organizations can keep sensitive settings and configuration options restricted while still enabling broader participation in day-to-day workflows.
Manage roles
Administrators can view the roles available in the platform and the specific permissions each one grants by going to Admin Tools > Roles. This gives you a clear picture of your organization's access model before assigning roles to users.
Assign roles to users
Administrators can assign roles when adding or managing users. Once you assign a role, the user's permissions are automatically applied based on the capabilities defined for that role.
Available roles
The platform includes several predefined roles that control access to data, settings, and administrative capabilities.

View role details
To view the specific permissions included in a role, select Actions (...) next to the role, then select View details. A panel opens showing the full list of access granted by that role.
Future functionality
We are making regular updates to this feature. The following functionality is planned but not yet available:
- Create custom roles.
- Duplicate existing roles to use as a starting point.
- Export role data for review or recordkeeping.
- Delete roles that are no longer needed.
- Two additional roles:
- Root user: Full administrative privileges across all organizations, with unrestricted read and write access to all data and settings.
- Superuser: Can access and manage all existing data within the partner organization, but cannot access settings or manage users.
