When your organization is migrated to Titan Continuous Monitoring, users, organizations, vendors, and assets are transferred automatically by the User service. Once migration is complete, your primary task as an administrator is to assign roles to your migrated users so they can get started on Titan Continuous Monitoring.
What happens during migration
The User service automatically migrates your users and associated data from SecurityScorecard. There is no manual import required. However, roles and permissions are not carried over; Titan Continuous Monitoring uses an independent set of roles that must be assigned after migration.
Because all migrated users start without a role, at least one user per organization is pre-assigned a role during migration to ensure there is an administrator in place to manage role assignments for the rest of the organization once migration is complete.
User Management
The User Management table provides administrators with visibility into all migrated users and is where role assignments take place.
The table includes search, filtering, sorting, and pagination to help you find and manage users efficiently.
Access to the User Management table is role-dependent:
- Root - system-level role with unrestricted access.
- Admin - full access to the table and can manage Editors and regular organization members.
- Editor - no access to the table.
- Viewer - no access to the table.
Assigning roles
Role assignment is the only write operation available in this version of User Management. Only admins with the appropriate permission can assign roles.
How to assign a role
- Navigate to the User Management table.
- Locate the user you want to assign a role to.
- Open the menu on that user's row.
- Select Assign role and choose the appropriate role from the list.
Rules and restrictions
- Roles on Titan Continuous Monitoring are independent from SecurityScorecard. Previous roles are not carried over.
- Roles are predefined and not editable. They cannot be created, deleted, deactivated, or modified through the interface.
- Each role can only manage roles below it in the hierarchy.
- Users, including Admins, cannot change their own role. The Assign role action is hidden or disabled on an Admin's own row.
