Vendor details fields let you store internal information about your vendor relationships directly on a vendor's profile, such as contract end dates, access levels, business impact, and more. This gives your team a complete picture of each vendor in one place, combining your organization's context with Titan's external risk signals.
Types of vendor details fields
There are two types of fields you may see on a vendor profile:
- System fields: Built-in fields provided by SecurityScorecard, such as Business Impact, Access Type, Contract End Date, Contract Value, Risk Level, Data Types Shared, Last Assessed Date, Vendor ID, and contact fields. These fields cannot be edited or deleted.
- Custom fields: Fields created by your organization's Admin to capture information specific to your internal processes. These appear alongside standard fields on the vendor profile.
Add a custom field
Admins can add a new custom field from Settings:
- Go to Admin Tools > Vendor Details Fields.
- Select + Add custom field.
- Enter a Name for the field. Field names must be unique; if you enter a name that's already in use, you're prompted to choose a different one.
- Choose a Field Type (see details in the table below). This cannot be changed after the field is created. If you chose Single choice or Multiple choice, enter the dropdown options.
- Optionally, turn on Visible in Vendor Directory to make the field available as a column in the Vendor Directory table.
- Click Add field to save the field.
Once created, the field appears at the bottom of your custom field list. To make the field visible in other areas of the platform, turn on the Visible toggle.
Available field types
Custom fields can be configured in the following formats:

Edit a custom field
You can rename a custom field at any time, and for select-type fields, you can update the list of available options. Field names must be unique; you can't create or rename a field to a title that's already in use.
Note: You can't change a field's type after it's created. If you need a different type, delete the field and create a new one.
Delete a field
You can delete a custom field as long as it isn't in use. A field can't be deleted if it already has values saved against one or more vendors.
If you can't delete a field, the platform tells you why. To remove it, first clear its values from each vendor, or you can hide the field instead so it no longer appears on vendor profiles or in the directory.

Use vendor fields in the Vendor Intake form
You can also map custom fields to questions in the Vendor Intake Form. This means that when a new vendor is added through the intake process, responses automatically populate the corresponding vendor details fields, saving your team from entering the same information twice.
Frequently asked questions
Can I delete a standard field?
No. Standard fields are built into the platform and cannot be removed or hidden.
What happens to field data if a vendor is offboarded?
Vendor details field data is retained even after a vendor is offboarded or removed. Your historical records remain intact.
