Within the SecurityScorecard platform, more than one scorecard can represent your company. While this is useful for managing subsidiaries (see Subsidiary Management), there are cases where duplicate scorecards should not exist. In these cases, you can ask the Support Team to merge them.
Merging consolidates two or more scorecards into one. The scorecards you merge away are the source scorecards, and the single scorecard you keep is the target scorecard. After the merge, anyone who accesses a source scorecard is automatically redirected to the target scorecard.
Warning: Merging scorecards is irreversible. The Support Team reviews every request carefully before proceeding.
During the merge, ownership of the following data transfers from the source scorecards to the target scorecard:
- Teams
- Scorecard tags
- Portfolios
- Followed scorecards
- Followers
- Users
- Identity provider (associated with SAML SSO)
- Custom scorecards
- Digital footprint (tags not included)
- Questionnaires
Note: The digital footprint from each source scorecard is appended to the target scorecard. The merge does not update the digital footprint immediately. The platform updates it when the scoring date next updates.
FAQs
When do the changes appear on the target scorecard?
Within 48 hours, after the next scan recalibration completes. The exact timing depends on the complexity of the scorecards. See What is a scoring date?
Can you modify a scorecard domain?
You cannot change a scorecard domain at this time.
Workaround: Merge the scorecard with the old domain (source) into the one with the new domain (target).
Can you use the email address for the new scorecard domain to log in?
Yes. You sign in with the new email address, and the platform routes you to the new scorecard.
How does the scorecard appear after the merge?
To view the merged scorecard, locate the source scorecard in the SecurityScorecard platform. The platform redirects you to the target scorecard that the source scorecard merged into. You can search for the source scorecard from the search bar at the top of the page or with the Add Company button on the portfolio page.
How do you initiate a merge request?
If the scorecards qualify for the use case above, submit a support ticket that includes the following:
- Source scorecard domains (the scorecards you want to merge into the target)
- Target scorecard domain (the scorecard you want the source scorecards to merge into)
- Your reason for the request
How long does the process take?
About one week. More complex requests can take longer.
