Question
While checking the digital footprint of a given scorecard, it was found that there are many parent (a.k.a. apex) domains which should not be linked to the scorecard.
Cause
Domain can be attributed due to many different reasons. If the domain is attributed due to the WHOIS record, there can be a common attribution link between two scorecards, i.e, name server, IT provider, or any generic word.
As an example: If example.com is a managed service provider, other domains they manage might have the same WHOIS record e.g Website Marketing Provider. As a result, all the domains with that matching WHOIS information (Website Marketing Provider) can be attributed to the Scorecard of example.com
Solution
If you find that multiple apex domains are misattributed to the scorecard, please create a case with support and provide us with the list of those misattributed domains and the reasons why you believe they are misattributed. We will analyze and help you fix the misattribution if relevant.
