The Knowledge Base is a centralized hub where your team stores, organizes, and reuses the information needed to answer security questionnaires. It brings together previously completed questionnaires, supporting documents, and curated topics so that anyone responding to a new questionnaire can quickly find an accurate, approved answer. A well-maintained Knowledge Base improves answer consistency, increases autofill accuracy, and reduces the time your team spends researching and reviewing responses.
You can access the Knowledge Base by going to My Company > Knowledge Base.
From there, you can search across all content, browse by category, and add new resources as your organization grows.
What you can store in your Knowledge Base
The Knowledge Base is organized into two main content types: Q&A and Documents. Each content type supports a different kind of resource your team relies on when completing questionnaires.
Q&A
The Q&A section holds the question-and-answer pairs your team uses to autofill and respond to questionnaires. It includes:
- Questionnaires: Reference questionnaires that your team can reuse when answering new ones.
- References: Standalone Q&A pairs added directly to the Knowledge Base.
- Info: General company information used to support responses.
- Topics: Automatically grouped clusters of similar questions and answers.
- Compliance: Q&A tied to specific compliance frameworks and controls.
Documents
The Documents section is a secure hub for the files your team uses to respond to questionnaires. It includes:
- Uploaded: Files your team uploads directly, such as audit reports and internal documentation.
- Site pages: Public-facing pages your team imports as supporting content.
- Certifications: Active certifications such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.
- Policies: Company policies your team makes available for reference.
Documents can also be automatically imported from connected integrations, such as Vanta, Drata, Hyperproof, and Confluence, so evidence you already maintain elsewhere stays available in your Knowledge Base without manual re-uploading.
Reference questionnaires
Reference questionnaires allow your team to reuse previously completed questionnaires as a resource when answering new ones. This improves answer consistency, increases autofill accuracy, and reduces time spent reviewing responses. You add reference questionnaires directly from the Knowledge Base section of your workspace.
Manage your documents
Uploading your company policies, audit reports, certifications, and other supporting files is a great way to add context to your Knowledge Base. The Documents page also serves as a secure hub where your team stores these files for easy internal access. Centralizing documents in the Knowledge Base means your team no longer needs to search shared drives or email threads to find the latest version of a policy or certification. See this article to learn how to Populate your Knowledge Base in Titan AI.
Knowledge topics
As your organization answers more questionnaires, your Knowledge Base can quickly fill up with duplicate or slightly different answers to the same questions. Over time, it becomes difficult to know which version is current or correct. Knowledge topics solve this by automatically grouping similar questions and answers into organized topics. Each topic represents a unique concept, such as encryption at rest or access control, so your Knowledge Base stays clean, consistent, and easy to manage.
Search your Knowledge Base
The Search tab is the fastest way to find content across your Knowledge Base. You can search by keyword, filter results by content type, and toggle Use Gen AI to generate AI-assisted answers based on your existing content. Quick actions let you browse Q&A, browse documents, or jump to recently used resources. The dashboard on the Search page also shows totals for each content type, giving you a quick view of how much content your Knowledge Base contains.
Use Gen AI
Use Gen AI is a toggle in the Knowledge Base search bar that changes how your search results appear.
When the toggle is off (the default every time you open the page), searching returns a standard list of matching Knowledge Base entries: Q&A pairs, references, and documents that match your search terms.
When you turn the toggle on, instead of just a list of matches, the search generates a single written answer to your question using AI. That answer is built only from your organization's own Knowledge Base content (previously answered Q&A pairs and uploaded documents), not from outside sources. The generated answer includes numbered citations you can click to see exactly which Knowledge Base entries it was drawn from.
If there isn't enough relevant content in your Knowledge Base to answer the question, you'll see a message letting you know rather than a guessed answer. From a generated answer, you can also give feedback (thumbs up/down), copy the response, or save it directly as a new Reference in your Knowledge Base.
