Overview
When attempting to log into SecurityScorecard using Single Sign-On (SSO) via Microsoft Azure AD (Entra ID), you may encounter the following error message:
AADSTS50105: Your administrator has configured the application SecurityScorecard to block users unless they are specifically granted ('assigned') access to the application...
or
AADSTS50105: The signed in user 'user@example.com' is not assigned to a role for the application '049cdc2d-68af-4ef8-b868-830f339ef3f4'.
Why is this happening?
This error is entirely managed by your organization’s internal Microsoft Azure administrator, not SecurityScorecard.
Your company's IT team has configured SecurityScorecard with a security setting called "Assignment Required." This means that even if you have a valid company email address, you cannot log into the platform until an internal IT administrator explicitly grants your specific account (or an Active Directory group you belong to) permission to use the application.
Because this security barrier sits entirely within your company's own Microsoft tenant, SecurityScorecard Support does not have access to grant you this permission.
How to Fix It
You will need to contact your company's internal IT Helpdesk or Azure AD Administrator to request access.
Copy the troubleshooting details: Click "Copy info to clipboard" or take a screenshot of the error message showing the Request ID and Correlation ID.
Contact your IT Team: Send an access request to your IT support desk. You can use the template below:
“Hi IT Team, I am trying to access SecurityScorecard but am blocked by an Azure SSO error (AADSTS50105) stating that the application requires explicit user assignment. Could you please assign my user account or group to the SecurityScorecard Enterprise Application in our Azure/Entra ID portal? Attached are my troubleshooting details.”
